Our company is unique in that it is the only company in Utah that specializes in teaching 16 hour PRIME for Life® courses in conjunction with the ongoing support of Odyssey House of Utah. We do not refer clients to ourselves, like many other companies do. Otherwise we would experience a conflict of interest. We believe that our focus makes it possible for us to provide a superior service at a better price. We began this business with the idea that we could improve on both accessibility and affordability to these classes. These remain hallmarks of our business.

We invite you to take advantage of our flexible class schedule and fair prices so we can share what the PRIME for Life® program has done for us and many others.

Our Mission

Our mission is to offer the most affordable and accessible PRIME For Life® class series possible.

We built our company on the belief that the evidence-based information provided by the PRIME for Life® program can help individuals make educated decisions about drug and alcohol use. We incorporate compassion and integrity into every class and class series.

PRIME for Life® education can help people avoid high risk behavior and, in many cases, it can even prevent the need for substance abuse treatment, alcohol education, and drunk driving classes.

We believe that this critical information should be accessible to everyone at a fair price.

Our Inspiration

The PRIME for Life® program itself is the inspiration for our company.

When our company founder discovered the PRIME for Life® program, he believed that he had finally found the most progressive program available to address substance use issues. He was impressed by the program’s evidence-based, research-backed approach.

PRIME for Life® Education is Not Treatment

PRIME for Life® is not treatment, it is education. The main difference between treatment and education is that treatment is individualized and education is generalized.

Treatment asks the question, “Why do you make the choices you make?” It confronts the individual.

Education says, “Here is some general information about the average person’s choices and risk factors regarding alcohol and drugs.” Education is relaxed and non-confrontational.

Many people are either not yet at the point where they need substance abuse treatment or are not yet sure that treatment is the right option for them. In these cases, substance abuse education in a relaxed, non-confrontational environment can provide the information they need to decide whether or not treatment is right for them.

Education, if taken to heart, can even prevent the need for treatment.

The creators of the PRIME for Life® program are the Prevention Research Institute of Lexington, KY. We are proud to be affiliated with this progressive, evidence-based, research-backed program.

Our Instructors

Our instructors maintain current certification with PRI (The Prevention Research Institute) to teach PRIME for Life® courses.

This means that our courses will satisfy any court or legal requirements for drug/alcohol education that you may need to satisfy related to charges.

Each of our instructors has many years’ experience in either the substance abuse education, drunk driving classes, and/or corrections fields.

Also, all of our instructors have their own personal histories with recovery from drug or alcohol addiction. We believe that this experience allows us to better fulfill the needs of our clients and approach each individual with increased understanding, compassion and respect.

We understand how you want to be treated because we’ve been there ourselves.

Our Founder

Our founder Stephen Letendre (pronounced “Lah-TAHN”) is the owner/operator of Letconsult Behavioral Education Services and works as our company’s primary class instructor.

Here is a personal message from Stephen:

Hi. My name is Stephen Letendre. While working years ago as a senior probation officer for the state of Utah, I became frustrated by the fact that many of my clients could not access the extremely helpful information contained in the PRIME for Life® class series.

More often than not, my clients could not attend the classes because companies were overcharging them for the series. Like many others, my clients were already burdened with expensive court fines and steep legal fees.

As an alcoholic and drug addict in recovery myself, it has always been easy for me to empathize with my clients’ situation. Because of this, I viewed the inflated class prices of other companies as unjust and exploitative of people who already have too much on their plates.

All too often “the system” cares little about the additional costs of mandatory drug and alcohol education and adopts the attitude that “they broke the law, so they should have to pay whatever it takes.” This attitude, the lack of accessibility to PRIME for Life® classes and their high costs motivated me to quit my job and start this company.

I am proud to offer a service that genuinely helps people improve their lives and am committed to making our PRIME for Life® classes as accessible and inexpensive as possible.

I am looking forward to meeting you and hope to see you in class.

~Stephen
